Get Involved with CAANT
So you want to get involved with the Cornell organization but feel that an officer position would be too much time. No problem!
We have roles that take up far less time but still provide a lot of value to the club. CAANT has ways for everyone to participate in the club no
matter how much or how little time you have to offer. This year the club is refocusing on giving back to the community. We are in the process of
building this years list of events and ask that you email us with any ideas you have for an event. Some of the past recommendations like the
Plano Susan G. Komen walk, the Uptown Katy Trail run and the Dallas March of Dimes walk were all turned into Cornell entered events. The Program Chair,
Theresa Flores, is very active but even she needs help coordinating and planning the events we designate. Please help her by offering a few hours
of your time to help put on an event that you care about. If you're going to be doing it anyway you might as well enlist a few dozens more people
to contribute to the cause! Please reach out to Theresa directly to find out what events we have planned and to offer your time/ideas.

Community Service is another great way for families to get involved with the club. During these difficult economic times families
across our community need our help. If you are active in any community service projects and think Cornell could help make a difference please
reach out to Mike or IB to get us involved. Let's show DFW that Cornell cares. If you have free time on your hands and want to help or want to
introduce CAANT to a new organization please contact Mike or IB directly.

Lastly, and possibly most importantly, we need your help with Happy Hours and luncheons throughout the DFW area. Since we are so geographically
dispersed it is difficult for our two social chairmen to plan events with the frequency everyone wants. With your help planning and leading even one
event per year we can make sure there is always a Cornell party going on somewhere. You know you are already going to the bar or restaurant so why
not host a group of your Cornell friends. There's no cost to be a host and you will get to try a new bar/restaurant while meeting a bunch of new
friends. These types of events are great ways for recent graduates or new Texans to get to know the area while making new friends. If you would
like to help organize an event please contact Elizabeth or Mark.
